Customer Service Training

Newport News has dedicated itself to providing continual customer service training. Affordable training is offered to all Newport News tourism-related businesses twice a year. Each training session is customized to give participants a variety of topics and tourism trends that will help them obtain the tools needed to improve their job performance and exceed the needs of our visitors.

Free Reunion Planning Seminar

Join us for a free seminar on Saturday, October 8, 2016, that will help you plan the perfect reunion in Newport News! Enjoy a vendor fair, door prizes, and helpful handouts with resources for organizing your next reunion! A light breakfast will be provided. The seminar lasts from 9:00-12:00 pm. Light breakfast included.

Familiarization Tours


Become a Newport News Hospitality Ambassador with the Hospitality Training FAM Tour!
Members of the hospitality industry and Newport News city employees have the opportunity to attend a Newport News Familiarization (FAM) Tour. Anyone who participates is eligible to take the Newport News Hospitality Ambassador test at the end of the tour.  After passing the test, participants become certified Newport News Hospitality Ambassadors and will receive a certificate and a lapel pin to wear.
